Armed Forces Day 2021 - Aldershot
When people mention ‘The Army” very often we only think of the combat members of the Army and forget that these brave men and women are just a part of a huge organisation that defends the nation.
20 Schools all around the Rushmoor Borough area spent some time exploring the different roles in the Army and thinking about these special people.
To say a big 'THANK YOU' they created thousands of coloured discs. Each disc is coloured to show a different area of the British Army each colour representing a different aspect of the Army. On each coloured disc the participating children drew a face on one side, representing an individual, and on the other side a thank you message. These thousands of discs were collected and placed on display in the heart of Aldershot Town at the bandstand in Princes Garden. Collectively it gives us the opportunity to see what percentage of people work in different areas in the Army.
